Calling Australian exporters for international business survey

27 April 2017: Australian exporting companies are invited to participate in Australia’s International Business Survey (AIBS), which seeks to understand characteristics of Australian exporters and how to assist their international activities.

Recognising trade and investment as a fundamental aspect of a strong economy, AIBS provides exporting companies the opportunity to voice their opinion and provide valuable input for future planning.

AIBS is a collaborative effort of the Export Council of Australia (ECA), the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), and the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (Efic) and UTS Business School, in recognition that Australian businesses, industry and government would benefit from in-depth longitudinal research into exporting companies and their activities.

The 15-minute survey seeks to capture the international intentions and trends of more than 2,000 Australian exporters over time and strives to build a greater industry-government awareness of the key impediments to trade. The Survey is expected to provide new information exploring the challenges companies face when entering new markets, how companies can maximise their export potential and international business trends.

Survey participants will receive a copy of the final report and are also offered a series of four educational booklets for completing the Survey. These booklets provide information on Free Trade Agreements for ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand, Malaysia-Australia, Singapore-Australia and Thailand-Australia.

“Building on the last three years of AIBS survey activity, AIBS 2017 will help build our understanding of the international activities of Australian companies with a specific focus on current international business activities and markets, future business outlook, experience with Free Trade Agreements and access to finance,” said ECA CEO Lisa McAuley.

The Survey can be accessed here and closes on Friday 5 May 2017 or visit the website.
